OFFICER REPORTS

· Treasurer Report-         John Spaugh

1.     Reviewed handouts with detailed budget information

2.     Church’s expense to preschool $6248.65.

3.     In the future, breakout pre-school;  expenses vs. revenue.

4.     Breakout pastor’s housing allowance from the salary.

5.     John has asked for permission to have finances reviewed for possible      commercial loan from BB&T (vs.CEF).  John is to study all possibilities and report back to board at November 15th meeting.

6.     2010 budget for review for Nov 15th meeting.

· Adult Discipleship Report-  No Report

· Youth Discipleship Report-      Drew Hockenbrocht

1.     Corn maze for teens Oct 25th.

2.     Game Day at Drew’s house  Nov. 15th.

3.     Lock-in—December, date to be determined.

4.     Sunday school teachers meeting—Nov 1st.

1.     Board discussed possibility of doubling the cleaning teams each week

COMMITTEE REPORTS-

Kristin Mantey – Preschool update

1.     Working on obtaining 5-star rating from state. Applying before June 2010.

2.     One full-time person leaving; currently interviewing for replacement.

3.     Float for W-S Christmas Parade to advertise pre-school? (Mark Brown to research).

OLD BUSINESS-

Reorganizing Bible class-during and after service.

Reorganizing Sunday School-Sunday school teachers meeting.

Review of parsonage sale to Pastor-moved to Nov 15th.

NEW BUSINESS-

-Place names of upcoming nursery workers, acolytes, ushers and church cleaning schedule in weekly Sunday bulletin.

-Grill out at Samaritan Ministries-approved request for $150.

-Congregational Meeting in Nov 22nd followed by voter’s meeting on Dec 6th.

-Report & Discussion from Leadership challenge-

1.   Add vice-chairs to several positions on council.

2.  Treasurer manages overall church funds, vice treasurer manages pre-school

3.  Female recording secretary (non-voting board member, similar to Elders)

-Reviewed names from nomination committee-exploring candidates for chairs and vice-chairs, and secretary for 2010 Board of Ministries.
