What is good Congregatinal Life?
Assimilation is how we encourage people to actively enter the
membership of Star of Bethlehem and form relationships through fellowship and
Christian service.
Fellowship is how we provide an organized structure for people to grown in their personal relationships with one another.
Caring is how we keep people connected with the community when major life transitions come their way (i.e. divorce, loss
of a family member, employment and education ransition).
Volunteer Coordination is how we faciliatate members offering their talents and spiritual gifts in the congregation.
How to become a member
We believe strongly that the Lord has called us to be and to make disciples, and that membership is secondary to our call as disciples of Jesus.
In keeping with this strong identity in Christ, we request that all adults complete a "New Member Preparation Process" before joining our membership.
Our Process
First - talk with Pastor. He will talk to you about the next step and what membership means.
Second - Attend a member preparation class. These are held periodically and Pastor can tell you when the next one is. We usually combine the class(es) with
an evening at a local resturant. There may be other members at the class as they are a good review of what we believe.
Third - Reception at a Worship Service after completion of the member preparation class. Member receptions will be offered at any of our worship services.
New members may simply choose at which service they want to be received.
